What Can I Donate?

Thank you for donating to Rescued & Restored! 

Please contact the store directly if you have a question regarding acceptable and unacceptable donations.  Note: staff and volunteers are permitted to politely refuse unacceptable items.

 

What we accept:

We accept used items in good, re-saleable condition from a smoke-free home or new items.  

  • Furniture
    Couches, chairs​, tables (patio, kitchen, dining, coffee, end), night stands, dressers, armoires, hutches, cabinets, bookcases, entertainment centres, desks, headboards, footboards, bedrails
  • Office Furniture
    We accept a very limited amount of office furniture including task chairs, whiteboards, sit/stand desks, waiting room furniture etc.
  • Electrical
    Small appliances (toasters, blenders, mixers, irons), power tools, lamps (table, floor). All items must be in working condition
  • Media
    Books (published after 2005, unless vintage), records, CDs and DVDs
  • Housewares
    Pots, pans, utensils, china cups, mugs, vases, dishes, cutlery, glassware, silverware, stemware
  • Exercise & Outdoor Equipment
    Bicycles, garden tools, small sports equipment, small exercise equipment
  • Accessories 
    Purses, wallets, backpacks, bags, jewelry
  • Items for Kids 
    Games, puzzles, NEW toys only
  • Textiles
    Bed/bath towels, sheets, blankets, decorative pillows, curtains, tablecloths, area rugs
  • Decor and miscellaneous items
    Artwork, baskets, ornaments, new candles, pictures/frames, mirrors, decorative items
  • Building Supplies
    Leftover reno materials like flooring (must be in a box).
  • Clothing and Footwear
    Adult clothing & footwear

What we don't accept:

We are grateful for your donations however there are some items that we are unable to accept due to sanitary, legal or health & safety concerns. These items include but are not limited to:

  • Damaged Items
    Torn, soiled, in need of repair, smelling of smoke or other odors 
  • Electrical
    Small radios, stereos, CD players, speakers, DVD players, TVs, VHS, ceiling fans
  • Media
    Encyclopedias, textbooks, cassette tapes, VHS tapes
  • Appliances 
    Microwaves, large appliances (stoves, fridges, etc.)
  • Exercise & Outdoor Equipment 
    Helmets, treadmills, electronic exercise equipment 
  • Kids and Infant Products
    Clothing and used toys. Car seats, cribs/playpens and related products *Please note: accepting these items is prohibited by law due to safety concerns.
  • Beds & bedding parts
    Hide-a-beds, pull-out couches, mattresses, box springs, waterbeds, coil springs, etc.
  • Automobile parts
    Tires, mufflers, fenders, etc.
  • Flammable products
    Any items that operate on or contain fuel including: gas cans, propane cylinders, barbecues, lawnmowers, tiki torches, etc.
  • Hazardous materials
    Batteries, paints, chemicals, cleaning products, poisons, etc.
  • Carpet  
    Wall-to-wall carpet
  • Building Supplies
    Doors, windows, toilets, sinks.
